Learn the history...
In the City of Saginaw, on Ojibway Island, stands a monument to Fr. Henri Nouvel, a Jesuit priest from the 17th century. This monument voices one perspective from an important moment in our local history. In a desire to place this monument in context of the many other perspectives and important moments in our local history, we have assembled a grass-roots coalition of citizens, historians, curators, anthropologists, and organizers from institutions such as the Economic Justice Alliance of Michigan, the Ezekiel Project, I Am Community, Saginaw Valley State University, Marshall M. Fredericks Sculpture Museum, and more.
