Site Specifications

  • Freestanding art should be placed in the front lawn with the intent for people to see it when they pass by on Washington St.
  • There is also a possibility of hanging a paneled mural or relief on the side of the MAC building near the porch steps. See below photo.
  • The public art can be temporary or permanent.
  • It needs to be easy to mow around it.
  • If needed a cement pad can be placed for footing.
  • The MAC has no regulations for outside the building but does have it for inside the building.
  • They didn’t have much interest in anything with the Carriage House building in the back because it isn’t visible to passing people on Washington.
  • Size limitations for 2-D is two to three 4 x 8 foot panels; size limitations for 3-D is one 4 x 8 foot space
