GET CREATIVE AND WRITE YOUR OWN MUSEUM LABEL

The twenty-five conserved drawings by Marshall M. Fredericks are virtually exhibited below. But wait, they are missing labels! Whenever you visit a museum, especially an art museum, you often find a small, typed label next to the object on display. This label often includes core information like who made the object, what is its title, and what is it made out of. Many times museums also add interpretive information about why the object is important enough to be in a museum or what is the significance of its imagery.

While we know that the drawings in the exhibition were created by “America’s Public Sculptor” Marshall M. Fredericks, they do not have titles or interpretive explanations about their significance.

We invite you, the visitor, to write your own label for one of Fredericks’s drawings! We empower you to tell us their meaning, their significance, their story!

Become the museum curator and tell us a story, make us laugh, make us cry, be creative and use your imagination. There are no right or wrong answers and there are no rules, besides have fun!

Include a title for your label, and try to keep it limited to two paragraphs.  Lastly please let us credit the author of your fine label.  We will need your name and age and what do you do in this life?  Student, doctor, sports star, astronaut, grave digger or whatever you do please let us know.

Click the link below to submit your label and please remember to include the number of the drawing you selected. Check back later to see if your label is chosen to be included in the virtual exhibition!
