Proceeds to support Marshall M. Fredericks Sculpture Museum

Who Is Nanci LaBret Einstein

Picture

Background
LaBret Einstein earned a BFA from the College for Creative Studies in painting and a minor in ceramics.

She has worked as a designer for Houze, Arden, IDG, Paper House, and the Athletic Supporter creating graphic images for various product lines. She has also created a licensed line of wallpaper with the Detroit Wallpaper Company

She served as co-chair for Art in the Park in Birmingham, Michigan, and as a a Guest Juror for Ann Arbor Art Fair.

Her work has been published in Manifest Gallery's international drawing annual 12 exhibition-in-print publication, and has been exhibited at many venues around the United States.

Media
Nanci works with multiple media at the same time. Each media such as sculpting, drawing, or photography, feeds into the other. One may be more controlled in the moment, for example, a drawing may allow her to release energy, merely by the method of application as opposed to a sculpture. There is downtime that each medium requires. She states: "working in multiple arenas, allows me to re-think the direction that i am going in on one piece, have a fresh look by walking away from it, while dancing
with another medium"

"Everything I create is dictated by the first mark and all subsequent marks from that point on. There is no recipe, There is what will happen to color, weight of line, texture, and relationship of space and mass. This holds true in all media, irrespective of what it is. The conglomerations are created in much the same way."

Where to View and How to Acquire

Nanci's work will be abled to be view at Saginaw Valley State University's Art Gallery in Aubrey Fine Arts center from September 23 until September 27. Nanci's art work can be purchased in person at the gallery or online at the museums Zcart.
